ONE MONTH......
since I updated my blog. A lot of reasons for that. Mostly because I have been fed up, thus dreading to write here 'cause I know I'll just be complaining. Also because it has been very busy. Times are changing. Workwise, at least. For you Norwegians, here is a piece from VG: http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=162637
Times are also changing for Ethiopians. We have now entered the third millennium here in Ethiopia, and they had a grand celebration with thousands of people in the Millennium Dome. Black Eyed Peas were performing, along with Aster Aweke and other Ethiopian artists. I decided not to go. I'm not a huge fan of Black Eyed Peas, at least not enough to want to pay 160US dollars for it.....I still had a very nice celebration with my friends, and I'm just glad it's over, really. But now I have to deal with Ethiopians who are asking me: What do you think about the Ethiopian Millennium? With my mood these days I really have to work hard not to scream in their faces when they ask me things like that......I'm becoming a horrible person.
What else has been happening? Well, I went to a fashion show, (will make a post about that later), and I also ran 10 kms last Sunday!! For the first time in my life!! The Great Ethiopian run was postponed, but people had come all the way from London to run, so some people organized for a small group to run, outside of Addis, just for fun. My friend was joining and asked me to come, so I decided to try. I finished in less than an hour, and I even got a medal! Quite happy with myself:) My legs are still sore, though.....and well, now it remains to say goodbye to my colleagues. They are leaving on Saturday.
I really hope the sun will come soon!
